A Holiday Gift for You: Supreme Court Oral Arguments Now Heard Live in Real-Time!
Who knew? Ever since 1789 when it was first established, the US Supreme Court has never permitted any form of real-time, as it happens, broadcast of the hearings held before it. It was not until a few months back when the Covid-19 social distancing phenomenon took hold that the Court had no choice but to relent. Now days with the doors to the court house shut tight, USSC hearings have all been virtual, and Zoom-like audio hearings have about totally replaced traditional in-person hearings. At the same time the Court began permitting the audio portion of all hearings to be broadcast to the public as they happen in real time! To listen in and hear the attorneys argue cases to the highest court in the land, AND better yet, to hear the questions and comments made by each of the nine justices, just head over to CSPAN.org sit back and listen along!
