Staffer's mother testifies on Capitol Hill
If you call into the office on any given day it’s likely you’ll be greeted by Deepti Sharma, the frontline staff member at HooverLaw, LLC. Sharma has worked at HooverLaw since October of last year, after her graduation as a Phi Beta Kappa scholar from Lake Forest College in Illinois. Though originally from Nepal, Sharma plans to pursue a graduate or law degree in the U.S.
Recently, her mother, a licensed physician researching in Nepal, was invited to testify on Capitol Hill before Congress. Dr. Aruna Uprety spoke before the House Committee on Foreign Relations, chaired by Howard Lawrence Berman of the 28th District of California. Dr. Uprety presented on the current combined efforts to combat human trafficking in the Middle East, specifically from Nepal to India.
All of us at HooverLaw would like to applaud Dr. Uprety for her stand on human trafficking.
