States Seek Federal Waiver of Special Education Funding Mandates

Oregon became the sixth state in the country to file a formal waiver request with the federal government today, asking for relief from the federally mandated state special education budget requirements. Many other states are likely to follow this trend in the face of the economic crisis in state budgets nationwide.
